According to rumors, Apple will release a so-called Apple Watch Series X with a larger display than the existing Apple Watch Series 8 next year.
The same story asserts that an expanding Apple Watch Ultra will join an expanding Apple Watch SE.
Given that it’s the tenth generation, it’s feasible Apple might do something akin to what it did with the iPhone X, starting with the Apple Watch Series X, which looks to be a placeholder term.
According to David Hsieh, an analyst at technology research firm Omdia, the upcoming Apple Watch Series 9 is expected to maintain the same screen size as the current Apple Watch Series 8 models. Hsieh predicts that the display for the Series 9 will likely come in 1.89-inch and 2.04-inch sizes, making it approximately 5% to 10% larger than the screens found on the current models.
In addition, Hsieh suggests that the Apple Watch SE 3 will undergo changes, including reduced bezels and a transition to the 41mm and 45mm case sizes, which align with the sizes of the Apple Watch Series 8. This means that the Apple Watch SE 3 will feature the same screen size as the Series 8.
Furthermore, Hsieh, along with analysts Ross Young and Jeff Pu, agrees that the upcoming model of the Apple Watch Ultra will have a larger 2.13-inch display. This would be an enhancement over the existing 1.99-inch display found in the current Apple Watch Ultra models, providing an improved visual experience for daily users.
